Twitvid Revamps Itself To Be More Open
Wed Dec, 2011 by Derek Mehraban
Twitvid was a video aggregating site that specialized in user-generated content. Think of it as Twitpic is, however, it is now recreating itself to be open to all kinds of video. What is happening is that users are now able to create feeds and even some channels all of which can be followed. Like a newsfeed, users will be told when a channel they follow has uploaded or shared new video. By opening itself up Twitvid is now allowing users to share YouTube content as well as Vimeo. Eventually it will open itself up for all video content.
Twitvid does not currently have any advertising. As the user base picks up and the number of views becomes larger it is reasonable to expect advertising to be integrated into the service. It is still useful for brands and digital marketing agencies as a newsfeed of video content. A brand can create and aggregate the video about it and place into a nice and easy to follow channel.
