Twitter Use by Small Businesses Doubled

The digital marketer’s job is becoming easier and easier. At least, if the is to convince small businesses that new social media tools are profitable. Twitter, once seen as the domain of teenagers, is becoming more acceptable even to small businesses.

The absolute number is fairly small as only 19% of small businesses used Twitter last year, but that number was a doubling of the previous year’s respondents. That number pales behind the now nearly third of small businesses using links and advertising on other social media platforms. Unsurprisingly, most of the use of social media is in newer small businesses (younger than 7 years old.)
