Turn By Turn Directions Inside Venues

A new type of app is about to hit the marketplaces: indoor navigation. So far Meridian is the only such app, but others are on the way. The venue list is also very small for Meridian, but it will grow especially as Meridian becomes available for the Android and widespread iPhone use.
The Indoor Navigation app will tell users turn by turn directions within stores to minimize wandering around. Some examples of places are museums, galleries, stadiums and large stores. Marketers now need to not only place the ads on servers and notify services a la Google Places. Marketers will also need to make sure clients are working with vendors on the back end, so that one book by the unknown author can be found through the indoor navigation app. If the apps work well then this can be a real boon for marketers.
