Social Networking Site MichEEN is Saving Michigan’s Environment One Page View at a Time

Technology has been on the rise in Michigan recently, and it is kicking the state into high gear. There have been a number of initiatives involving the use of technology in order to better our state, but one in particular that really stands out is a program that was established to make Michigan a state of clean and efficient energy production. This is a company that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all to deliver energy solutions as far as they can possibly go across our wonderful state. This program not only helps its users find their own resources, but it helps users leverage the resources of others, creating and sharing new resources all around. And while there are so many technologically beneficial initiatives happen for Michigan right now, see the Great Lakes Innovation and Technology Report, this one sheds energy efficient light on a topic surrounding our future energy habits. This is MichEEN.
The Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth and Michigan State University have teamed up to release a social networking site that is geared around making Michigan a green, clean and flourishing market. This site, called the Michigan Energy Efficiency Network (MichEEN), nurtures the online community while helping groups like businesses, the local government and schools save money, time and energy.
The MichEEN is an interactive community that strives to solve the challenges of conserving energy use while seeking alternative solutions to 21st century challenges. The site makes every effort to bring together individuals seeking energy advice and governmental services, along with linking both groups to the organizations that can provide what each group is looking for. Bringing out the environmental conscience in social networking, MichEEN is a leader in sharing the power of knowledge and efficient energy solutions. The Michigan Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic growth, along with Michigan State University College of Communication Arts & Science and INgage Networks collaborated to form the creation of MichEEN. MichEEN provides help for users to save money, time and energy by: providing cost-saving measures for users; providing tools for users to come up with thriving grant acquisitions; allowing users to ask questions and receive answers on MichEEN forums; creating a space where distant participants can work together on policies and projects.
