Google Instant search is here! Today Google announced their newest enhancement to search, raising the bar once again. Start typing a search query into Google and you will notice the results page instantaneously updates and changes with each letter you type. This is the future of search, and it looks great.
Google Instant is really “search-before-you-type” – taking what you have typed already, predicting the most likely completion and streaming results in real-time for those predictions. It really is quite remarkable, go give it a shot. One early example we like: type the letter “w” (and since the most popular search term beginning with “w” is “weather”) your local weather results populate the search page immediately.
Ingenex is already working on the effects this will have for our search engine optimization services, and how we can work with this new technique for new and existing clients. Google AdWords are also populated and displayed in real-time just as the organic results are, potentially boosting impressions on our client’s AdWords campaigns.
Check out Google’s dedicated page for information on the new feature at google.com/instant, or watch the introduction video to Google Instant below.
