In the face of the tough competiton, Alexa is coming up with more and more user friendly and unique features. Ability to create own search enginem by giving access to the crawler is quite a novel feature in itself.

Alexa is a very important benchmark to determine the rankings and traffic of sites. Google is placed at the 2nd position as per Alexa rankings and traffic rankings and is facing tough competition from Live.com and of course Yahoo.

Andrew, valid point indeed. The presentation was pro Google. It's important to learn all about the big dog. But I agree, it's only part of the mix. Though with some of these new products coming out - tv, radio, mobile, etc. - Google would like to be your one stop shop for ALL advertising.

Interesting....a Google presentation that was mostly about Adwords. Imagine that. I'd love to see a similar presentation about all the other free search engine tools that companies can leverage if they are just willing to put a little more effort and thought into their marketing initiatives.

No offense to Adwords, it's a great product and I've used it with great success. But it's just one part of the internet marketing equation.
