Since last year the number of online shoppers using a brand’s FaceBook page has increased 3 percent. That bump moves blogs, forums and review sites into second place. Many FaceBook users, about 35%, are willing to make purchases through widgets and apps on FB’s site and more than half of users, 53%, have reached an online shopping seller through a FB page.
The digital agency should use this data to upgrade their clients’ FB presence. Most agencies are good about promoting and using FB as a content sharing and notification system, telling customers about upcoming deals and specials. However, few brands are using FB for actual e-commerce options. Only 12% of the top 500 retailers on FB offer some opportunity to make purchases from within FB. This is an opportunity for firms to step and up and become leaders in F-Commerce.
